Gunston Consulting is led by Dr. Tom Gunston
Dr Gunston is an Acoustic Physicist with over 20 years' experience of severe environment noise and vibration exposures.
He has a PhD from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton and was a Research Fellow at both Southampton and the University of Sheffield.
He has extensive experience of the unique vibration and acoustic environments and practical challenges involved in the use of fast boats, tracked and wheeled military vehicles, hand tools and industrial and agricultural off-road vehicles.
He has acted as a Subject Matter Expert for the Ministry of Defence and as a consultant to search and rescue and civil equipment and platform manufacturers and operators. He has served as an Engineering Expert Witness on military and civil noise and vibration exposure cases.
He is the Chair of the British Standards Technical Committee on Human Response to Vibration and has represented the UK on numerous international technical groups.
He is a member of the Institute of Acoustics and has previously held associate membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, the Institute of Civil Engineers, and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects on the basis of specialist N&V expertise.
